Rediscovering the times of the church year and Christian festivals and making them meaningful: relaunch of the TYPO3 website of the non-profit organization Andere Zeiten
Implementation
First, a current version of TYPO3 is installed. TYPO3 is an open source content management system of the enterprise class - highly flexible and easy to expand. At the same time, a new layout and new features are developed. Contemporary functions, such as the optimal display of the site on mobile devices, are taken into account. The new navigation allows visitors to find the content they are looking for more quickly and easily.
Technical highlights
- The so-called "time announcement" is integrated into the header of the homepage. This is an extension to the presentation of the church year. Visitors can find texts and images relating to the current church season, the next festival in the church year and the church year in general, and the website's maintainability, which is indexed by the content management system, is very versatile. For example, new teasers can be created that are flexible in terms of image, headline, text, linking and rotation of the element.
- A maintainable speech bubble is integrated. The arrangement of the position on the header image, the fade-in and fade-out as well as the texts contained can be designed by Other Times itself.
- The "Funded projects" section has a new, interactive design. There is an extension for displaying, searching and archiving funded projects. A keyword and a zip code with a radius can be entered as search criteria. A further search is carried out by federal state. A map of Germany opens in a lightbox and the visitor can select the relevant federal state.
- The website is fully responsive and can be displayed on all mobile devices.
Result
The new Andere Zeiten website is clearer, friendlier and more informative for visitors than before. The modern layout also has a high recognition value compared to the print products. Thanks to the clever use of the TYPO3 content management system, the Andere Zeiten team can freely design many elements of the website and maintain texts and images themselves. Visitors have a wide range of options for finding out about the association, projects and materials. Overall, the new website optimally supports the interaction between the association and visitors.
